"On the island there are psychedelic places and scents, sublime atmospheres that only the heat can give, the warmth of the wind, the light scent of citrus fruits, yuzu lemonades, day and night, on the horizon.
In the same year I returned after a long time to Sicily and Japan, it was the summer of 2023.
Lemonades at the old harbour, children running in the sunny streets of the casba, the warm wind on the beaches, a sip of bitter every evening, dear friends from faraway worlds.
I used to wander the light streets of Mazara del Vallo, my hometown, watch the sun hit my body, my joy rediscover childhood. Everything was there, my land, my love, my friends, my closest ties. Island is a state of mind of the human being, it is to perceive that water exists all around, and that the pure element keeps us isolated, but protects us. It was the same summer, I walked the Japanese streets, taking refuge in the shadows of quiet gardens, listening to the weather, watching the hot August sun.
In Isola I recounted my love of life, the contrast and union of two different cultures."
